Horse Corral Pack Station
Judy and Charley Mills live in Woodlake and have owned and operated Horse Corral Pack Station since 2000. It is a family-run business doing overnight pack trips as well as 1-hour, 2-hour and all-day rides. The lower age limit is 7 years old. 7 - 16 year-olds must wear riding helmets. Riata Ranch International
Riata Ranch provides a basic and thorough equine education and horsemanship for youth. It’s a unique concept that teaches valuable life-lessons of hard work, discipline, pride and respect from the back of a horse of which to date 3,500 students have been able to experience which is chronicled in a book about the program, titled “ Riata Ranch Cowboy girls – Life Lessons Learned on the Back of a Horse”
Riata was created in 1957 by late founder, Tommy Maier. Today Riata Ranch International is under the direction of Jennifer Welch who has been associated with Riata Ranch for 30 years starting as a young student and then becoming one of the four original trick riding performers in the late 1970s, an international team leader in the 1980s through the 1990s and administrative staff for the last 10 years.
